Callisthenics workout zone in Lince

Parque Mariscal Ramón Castilla

This leafy, tranquil park has a genuine outdoor gym with numerous workout stations and callisthenic bars making Parque Mariscal Ramón Castilla a top Lima callisthenics location.

Parque Mariscal Ramón Castilla is suitable for callisthenics beginners and experts alike. The spacious nature of this workout area, as well as the variety of equipment (all of which appear to be in good condition), are the big pluses of this callisthenics location. Not only do you have your standard callisthenics bars, but you also have less common equipment like snake bars and trapeze bars. Sand makes for comfortable dismounts for those doing advanced exercises. There is even some apparatus I’ve never seen before, like a sloped monkey log bar (at least I think that’s what it is). Then, there are pieces of resistance equipment such as chest-fly machines. You’re spoilt for choice!

The workout zone is in its own designated part of the park, so you are, in theory, separated from other parkgoers; however, be prepared for kids! Despite the fact that an actual playground is only a couple of hundred yards away, children - with their parents’ blessing - treat this callisthenics park as another playground. I don’t recall seeing a sign telling children to keep off the equipment, so that can’t help. Thankfully, there is enough apparatus and space that children shouldn’t impede your workout too much.

If you’re serious about your callisthenics but don’t live in Lince, Parque Mariscal Ramón Castilla is worth travelling to.
